Independent & Image Art Space

Independent & Image Art Space is located in 501 Art Base, which is the most important art zone in Chongqing, next door to one of China’s top art university Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. Since the foundation in 2008, Independent & Image Art Space has been paying close attention to the development of Chinese and international contemporary art. We actively promote the dialogue between China and other parts of the world in the field of art and culture.

During the years, we held numerous exhibitions of multiple art disciplines, including painting, photography, sculpture, installation etc., and related thematic lectures, seminars and workshops. We aim to build a professional art space on the exhibition, promotion and communication of contemporary art in Southwestern China, national wide and internationally. We open to the public, and build up a platform for the dialogue between contemporary art and the public.

Independent & Image Art Space is equipped with international high standard facilities, advanced image output equipment and fine art quality mounting and framing, keeping pace with the latest technology in the world, which contribute to an always-excellent exhibition experience.

Independent & Image Art Space is a significant art institute in the city of Chongqing, actively promoting the artistic and cultural exchanges between Southwestern area and other places in China, and also other countries in the world. We introduce first-class contemporary artworks to the world, and bring the leading international artists, works, ideas to the city, devoting to a wider and deeper international communication and collaboration between disciplines and cultures.
